Aaron Call
1868-1954
Aaron Call was born July 3, 1868, at Bountiful, Utah, a little town nestled on the western slopes of the Rocky Mountain Range and adjacent to Salt Lake City.
Aaron was the youngest son of Anson Call and Margaretta Unwin Clark. His ancestors for several generations had been conspicuous in the struggle for religious and political liberty. Aaron inherited the strong traits of character that distinguished his people as outstanding people in their long and colorful lives.
Aaron was born under the covenant of the Holy Priesthood and endowed with the blessing of an unusually strong and healthy body. When he was born he weighed in at thirteen pounds. In spite of his unusual beginning, he developed normally and rigorously under the hardened conditions of pioneer farm life.
His educational advantages were limited, as they were to most of the children in the rural homes of those pioneer days. The fifth level reader was the maximum level of education that could be obtained.
Aaron was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on his birthday, July 3, 1876.
At the age of twelve years, Aaron was involved in a very serious accident. A farm wagon loaded with corn passed over his body crushing several ribs and bringing to little Aaron his first test of real faith. This experience firmly riveted in his mind the absolute knowledge that his Heavenly Father did live and did answer the prayers of the faithful. Contrary to the belief of the attending physicians and others around him, he was made whole.
