Harriet Lodeskie Woodhead Randall
1863-1926
Harriet Lodeskie Woodhead was born May 24, 1863 at Paradise, Cache County, Utah. At the time she was born her mother, Caroline Lane Woodhead, died from complications of childbirth. This left her father, George Woodhead, with four older children and a new baby. With no wife to help him care for his children, he sought the help of family and friends. His new baby daughter was taken by Alonzo and Harriet Dabell, who gave her all the attention and care they gave their own children and raised her as their own.
Harriet spent her childhood in the vicinity of Paradise. Later she moved to Farr West, Weber County, Utah, where she met a young man by the name of Charles Chapman Randall. They were married on February 8, 1881, at Ogden, Weber County, Utah by Daniel B. Rawson, Justice of the Peace. Harriet’s sister, Dora, was married the same day, making it a double celebration for their family.
