Caroline Lane Woodhead 1825-1863
On July 15, 1825, a daughter was born to James and Mary Ann Davis Lane. They gave this child the name of Caroline. She was born and lived her childhood days in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.
During the year 1842, a missionary from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was teaching people about the Church in Caroline’s hometown. Caroline became very interested in the teachings this man shared. She was convinced that the message was true and she wanted to join the Church. Her parents were very upset by her interest and desire, and firmly opposed her decision. Caroline studied and prayed to know what to do. She continued to learn and pray for the answers she wanted to know. She sought the help and guidance of her missionary friend, as well as other Church leaders.
